Thanks for the input. Sounds like some companies try to go both ways. Guess I'll go and get an estimate and go from there. I don't think this fix is more than $500.
I don't recall the tire brand, I'll have to go look again. I may look into changing companies; I have State Farm on all of my vehicles, but Jayco offered American Modern as reputable 5 years ago when we purchased the 5th wheel. I've heard people say to always go with an insurance company that specializes in rv insurance. Not sure how completely true this is but I'm sure there's probably some subjectivity there somewhere.....

Jeez, I just realized I haven't been online for a while....hope you're all still getting out (even a little bit) given the fuel costs these days.
Last month while traveling to a campground, we blew a tire on our 5th wheel on I-5. When it blew, it broke half of the plastic "fender". My insurance company (American Modern Insur Group)advised me of my $500 deductible. If the cost is higher they said the adjuster determines if this falls under "comp coverage" or "collision coverage". If collision, that could be points on my record. The rep said this is fairly common among rv insurance companies but couldn't quite explain why it could fall under collision (if the cost is above my deductible). Have you heard of this before?
